Frequently Asked Questions
All exhibitors must live in Smith County or living in an adjoining County and active due to cross county participation, or attend a Smith County school from the following districts: Arp, Bullard, Chapel Hill, Lindale, Tyler, Troup, Whitehouse, Winona, or any private/home school.
Exhibitors must be an active member in the FFA/Junior FFA, FCCLA, or local 4-H club and between the ages of 8 and in the third grade and 19 years and not yet graduated from high school.
All exhibitors must be under the supervision of a County Extension Agent, Agricultural Teacher, or FCCLA Teacher.

Anybody can participate as a buyer during the night of auction. If you are unable to attend, you may designate someone to stand in your place or contact us at smithcountyjuniorlivestockshow@gmail.com, and we will assist you.
As you arrive at the auction, you will check-in with our Bookkeeper who will assist you with a buyer's number. If you purchase a project, you will be give three options:
• I will take the animal home that I have purchase
• I will donate the market animal project back to the SCJLS and Scholarship Fund
● I will take the floor amount as a credit to my bill, giving up my ownership ofthe purchase
An add-on is an additional donation given to a child in the event a donor is unable to purchase a project. The add-on can be any amount and will be attached to the child's project. They will receive the funds once they recieve a full check in the following weeks of the show.
There are several ways to donate to the SCJLS. Below is a list of ways to participate. For more information, follow the page "Become a Sponsor."

At the conclusion of the show, you will have the option to close out your amount with our Bookkeeper. If you do not wish to wait, the Show Board will mail out a Bill of Sale in the following weeks of the show.
The SCJLS is a project show, meaning you have the option to choose what to do with the project you purchase. Below are the options you have when you complete your bid. A Junior Board Member will approach you with the information for you to complete and sign for our records.
