Join the Junior Board
Submission of an application does NOT mean you will be selected. The Junior Board advisor will review applicants and speak with ag teachers and 4-H leaders for consideration.

The SCJLS Junior Board was developed in 2014 as a way to give students leadership opportunities and a voice in the community. Being a Junior Board member means being an ambassador of the Smith County Junior Livestock Show. You will be interacting with community stakeholders, businesses, and other supporters.

Requirements are as follows:

4-H, FFA, or FCCLA member of participating club/chapter

Must be in grades 9-12
-
Must participate in a minimum of THREE sanctioned events outside of the marketing workshop and the SCJLS
-
Attend all required junior board meetings (October 2025 & March 2026)

Attend the SCJLS marketing workshop (Summer/fall 2025)

Assist at the 2026 SCJLS

Students who join the SCJLS Junior Board must complete the participation form below following each event.

This is the same form for the Top Hand Award that is open to high school students. Please note some events do not qualify for both.
